Not the right product

"You can actually see light through the seams in the soft topper when looking out the topper. Not large holes but just enough to let water in. The seam sealer did basically nothing. Gorilla glue has a clear construction sealer/paste that works well. The seam sealer was a waste of $$."

Took some trial and error

"At first I let the cap get rained on to see how it would do. There was a little bit of water that got in. I used the seam sealer from the bottle next. I did a little bit of the straps where they connect to the canvas thinking that would do, but the water followed the straps and got in. Then I used the seam grip from the tube and did every inch of the straps and a few spots on the seams where they get pulled tight over the bars. Rained last night and not a drop! Side note: wear gloves!"

Good product, bad packaging

"Product seems to work fine after a couple of rough days in a nor’easter. I was only able to apply it to about half of my soft topper because ironically the seams in the tube began to leak and the entire product opened up all over my hands as applying. Should have been wearing gloves, took ages to get off. Beware if buying for yourself."

great for the seams

"When I applied this to my softtop, I was impressed by how quickly it dried. I would like to have more of it, just so I can do a second layer on some of the vulnerable spots, like the corners of the front side of the bed and the rear side. But even with one coat and after a few heavy thunderstorms, little to no water in the bed."

Premature purchase

"I purchased this in the event that when I'm out going down that mountain road tree branch catches it something of the sort I have the glue to fix it and patches. Purchased it premature just in case."

Q&A

Can you use a waterproof spray on this material to help keep the top waterproof?
You should not need to apply any type of waterproof spray to your Softopper. The canvas has a vinyl coating that will keep water out. If you need to further seal the top against water, you can apply seam sealer to the seams. We hope this helps, please let us know if you have any additional questions!
